Our obsession with flying began many years ago when we got our first PT19 Cox plane for Christmas. What a joy that was right up until the time we did a nose dive and shattered it into many pieces.

Later in life, we actually took flying lessons in a Cessna 152 and had about 10 hours solo ready to do the cross country test when unforeseen circumstances brought those lessons to a close.

Our love for flying remains and for anybody who has ever flown an RC plane or helicopter, you know how much of an obsession it can become. If you add being a pilot into the mix, well then it can quickly go from an obsession to an addiction real quickly.

The basic ingredient that radio controlled planes have in common with actual planes, is they both use Bernoulli's principle of lift to become airborne. Even though and RC plane is much smaller, it is really just a scaled version of an actual aircraft which is why it is a loved hobby by so many.
