$499.99 for Vapor RTF Must Be A Typo July 14, 2010 AKH Please check that the price of $499.99 on the Parkzone Vapor RC airplane is correct.
$499.99 is much higher that the $129.99 price that ParkZone has on a newer model of the same airplane with LEDs for night flying.
Please make sure this is not a mistake.
Thanks,
Al

Junked on Day 1 April 25, 2010 C. Robins (USA) These planes are extremely fragile. Broke mine on the first day. If your a pro flier and have a large indoor area they might be ok if your willing to repair often. Otherwise they are a total waste of money especially someone looking to get into the hobby.
Not Happy With Vapor March 6, 2010 Bob Andrews (Coatesville, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I hate to be negative, but this is my first fixed wing RC model plane and I have yet to fly it. I picked out the Vapor because of its large wing surface area and what appeared to be a lightweight durable plane suited for someone learning to fly his first fixed wing RC model. I purchased the Vapor on Thursday and today is Saturday and I find myself still gluing the plastic to the structure which started to separate from the Vapor just out out the box. What's more the plastic sheeting on the elevator has started to tear and does not seem to be mylar as I was told. I do not recommend that a newbe who is excited about his first plane getting this as a RTF plane. Maybe in another week I will be able to add a happier update on the Vapor, but for right now it is an expensive purchase that is getting heavier because of all of the glue and tape added to it. The hobby shop guy said that I can buy the parts to replace what seems to me to be a bad manufacturing process. I'm not sure I want to invest any more $$ into this item.
Unhappily waiting for the glue to dry.
Fun, but a bit fragile, and not so easy to repair. February 2, 2010 parrothead (Atlanta, GA) As another reviewer noted, this plane is a lot of fun for a while. With a little practice, it's easy to fly, very slow, and has quite a bit of power for such a small model. BUT, my plane arrived with the ultra-thin plastic already separating from the wing. I got some gift wrap tape and taped it back on, and to my surprise, worked fine. Well, after one flight and a minor crash, the rest of the plastic was separating. More tape, this time all the way around, and it was in the air again. It didn't seem to affect it adversely. Then, one slightly hard landing and the landing gear broke. This was much harder to fix, but after some very careful gluing, it was in the air again. Next time, the other side of the landing gear broke. More glue. You're getting the picture by now. Then, several days of successful flights, and I was starting to get pretty good, until it VERY gently hit a nearby tree. The plane was barely moving and just bounced of. I didn't think much of that until the motor wouldn't start. It was then I realized the front wing support had snapped, and in the process had pulled the tiny power wire out of the engine, and it was impossible to get it back in. There are plenty of replacement parts, but getting the plane apart to replace the parts without breaking other parts is pretty hard. Now it needs a new motor, landing gear, and front wing. It really was fun while it lasted, but if this plane is to last very long, you better know what you're doing. If you're new to rc planes, take this to an open grassy space with no wind (it doesn't need to be huge), and practice, practice, practice. Once you've got it down, it's not hard, but it simply cannot take running into much. Fly it over a soft surface, and if you get in trouble, just cut the power and let it float and it will be fine. Just be aware that it is not a trainer, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for an absolute novice.
Vapor Rules for a beginner! December 21, 2009 Mark L So all of the guys in my office have these and talked me into buying one to fly in our warehouse.
I always love RC stuff, but this is my first plane, and what a hoot!
First of all this thing is durable! I mean it is less than an ounce and I crash it into walls and things and it still flies! I have tape on the wings and superglue here and there. I broke the landing gear twice - once transporting (I always use the box now) and once clipping the very top of a computer while pulling out of a roll. The first time I changed the gear - the second time I just glued a bit of cardboard to the gear and it works great!
This thing will brake, its called a "hobby" for a reason.
It is such a slow plane, that it gives the beginner a chance to learn his stuff. I am ready to move to a bigger faster plane now, but this is still great for indoors! I have flown it outdoors, but it has to be absolutely still, I almost lost it a few days ago when a wind took it over my neighbors house and I lost sight of her. (nothing like a grown man ringing doorbells looking for his toy plane)
lots of fun for a little bit of cash. Don't be afraid to do self repairs, or bug the guy in the hobby shop to get some advice.
